| Report on 2011 Vancouver West Coast Prospects Camp The 3rd annual West Coast Prospects Camp was held Saturday September 3, 2011 at Cloverdale Recreation Center in Surrey, British Columbia. Approximately 130 players participated. Here is a report on the event.
Top Prospects: (*indicates highest consideration for this category) 5’6” PG Parm Bains of Tamanawis HS 2014 Bains is a one man who runs and loves the transition game. He handles it well and pushes the break consistently. He also is an ok shooter.
6’4” SF Sukhjot Bains of Tamanawis HS 2014 Bains is a three-man with long arms and nice all-around skills. He is a decent handler and an ok passer who can make some plays in transition. He is a capable driver, a fairly good shooter with 3-point range a decent rebounder.
6’5” PF/SF Brayden Belleville of Carson Graham HS 2014 Belleville is a combo forward who is an ok athlete that shows some versatility. He is a decent handler who drives a little. He can post up some (has a nice drop step) and is a capable rebounder.
6’2” SF Matthew Blackaby of Pitt Meadows HS 2012 Blackaby is a three-man who sets himself apart with his effort and willingness to do the dirty work. He is a solid defender and rebounder and will dive on the floor for loose balls. He is also a capable ball handler who pulls up well half court and is a fairly good driver.
5’10” PG Corey Hauck of WJ Mouat HS 2014 Hauck is a bright young prospect. He handles it well, is a good passer and is ok in transition. He can pull up ok half court, shoots it ok with 3-point range, has a good hesitation move and is a solid rebounder from the guard position.
*6’1” PG/SG Jalen Jana of St. Thomas Moore HS 2014 Jana was another 2014 prospect who showed real nice ability and made a name for himself. He is an athletic combo guard who runs well. He is a solid handler and passer who can make plays in transition. He does see the floor and can get the ball to the open man. Jana shoots it ok and is an effective penetrator. Remember the name!
5’8” PG Adam Karmali of Handsworth HS 2014 Karmali is a young point guard who shows a lot of promise. He is a solid handler and a good passer. He sees the floor exceptionally well on the break. He can pull up in the court and is an ok shooter. Karmali is also a capable driver/penetrator with an ok hesitation move.
6’2” SG/SF Sasha Kosmajac of Churchill HS 2013 Kosmajac is a wing who is an ok ball handler and passer. He is fairly effective in transition, can pull up half court and is a decent shooter with 3-point range.
*6’1” SG Malik Leaks of North Salem HS (OR) 2014 Leaks, the lone American at the event, was one of the bright prospects. He is a fairly athletic two guard who can run. He handles and passes it ok and is effective in transition, showing the ability to finish and to pull up. He is a decent (set) shooter with 3-point range. Leaks is also a good driver with a nice hesitation move and a capable rebounder. Put him on the radar in the class of 2014.
*6’6” PF/C Mitch Ligertwood of Heritage Woods HS 2012 Ligertwood is a hard-working combo postman with nice all-around skills. He’s a decent ball handler (an ok passer) who can pull up in the half court. He can post up some and shows the ability to dribble operate on the block. Ligertwood is also ok mid-range shooter and driver and a solid rebounder.
5’10” PG Spencer Maichin of Delview HS 2012 Maichin is an energetic one-man who is a leader that makes the team go. He is a capable ball handler and a good passer. He does a nice job seeing the floor and finding the open man in transition. He is a good driver/penetrator with a deceptive first step and a real nice hesitation move. He is also a solid rebounder.
*6’1” PG/SG Lucas Mannes of GW Graham HS 2012 Mannes is a combo guard with good skills. He handles it well, and is a good passer. He is effective in transition pushing the break aggressively. He sees the floor well and can get the ball to the open man. Manners pulls up nicely, both in transition and in the half court. He is also a fairly good shooter with 3-point range and a solid driver.
5’11” SG Mark Mc Ginnis of GP Vanier HS 2012 Mc Ginnis is a two guard who shoots it well with range to 3 and is a solid handler. He runs the floor well and is a capable rebounder.
5’9” PG Madison Mc Rae of GP Vanier HS 2013 Mc Rae is a one-man who runs well and really likes the transition game. He handles it well and is a good passer. His ability to makes plays on the break is his best asset.
6’9” C Kenneth Monture of Walnut Grove HS 2012 Monture is a five-man who has diverse skills. He handler it a little, is an ok passer and can post up some (showing the ability to dribble operate on the block).
6’5” SF Luke Morris of Mission HS 2012 Morris is a three-man who is a capable ball handler. He pulls up fairly half court and has a decent first step. He moves ok without the ball and has a nice shooting touch.
6’0” SG Cordell Parker of Gleneagles HS 2015 Parker is one of the youngest prospects who showed some real promise. He is a two-man who is a solid handler, a decent shooter with 3-point range and has an ok hesitation move.
6’2” PG Luka Petrovic of Handsworth HS 2013 Petrovic is a skilled one-man who really competes. He is a good ball handler and passer who is fairly effective in transition. He shoots it ok with 3-point range and is a solid driver. 5’11” SG Jerome Santiago of Johnston Heights HS 2015 Santiago is a two-man who is a decent athlete that can run the floor. He handles it ok, is a good passer and is ok in transition. He is also a solid a solid driver who beats the defender consistently.
*6’0” PG Bradyn Smith of St. George’s HS 2012 Smith is an athletic one-man who runs real well (has a nice burst of speed). He is a solid handler and a good passer who pushes the break well. Smith is a good driver with a nice hesitation move. He is real effective penetrating and dishing off. He can be erratic at times. 6’2” SF Denver Sparks-Guest of Gleneagle HS 2014 Sparks-Guest is a three-man with a nice all-around game. He is an ok ball handler and passer who can makes plays in transition. He is an ok shooter with 3-point range, a decent driver and a solid rebounder.
6’0” PG Dustin Triano of South Delta HS 2012 Triano is a one-man with solid all-around skills. He handles and passes fairly well and is ok in transition. He moves ok without the ball, shoots it fairly well with range to 3 and has a nice hesitation move.

6’5” SF Jayme Bains of Panorama Ridge HS 2014 Runs ok, solid handler and passer, ok shooter. *6’1” PG/SG Sukhraj Birring of Tamanawis HS 2014 Handles fairly well, ok passer, can pull up in transition and half court, ok shooter.
*6’4” SG Mike Blaauw of Brookswood HS 2012 Capable handler, pulls up ok half court, moves ok without the ball, good shooter with 3-point range, fairly good driver, capable rebounder.
6’0” SG Taylor Brown of Holy Cross HS 2015 Runs ok, can handler/pass, fairly good driver.
6’3” SF Elijah Campbell-Axson of Vancouver College HS 2014 Runs fairly well, ok handler, can pull up half court, decent driver.
5’11” PG/SG Temi Dale-Dare of Kwantlen Park HS 2012 Ok athlete, capable handler, pulls up ok half court, decent shooter, can drive. 6’5” PF/C Joe Davis of Westsyde HS 2015 Handles a little, moves ok without the ball, decent short driver, solid rebounder.
5’11” SG Russell Dolson of Sa-Hali HS 2013 Runs ok, capable handler, finishes in transition fairly well.
*6’0” PG Erikson Evangelista of Vancouver College HS 2012 Handles it, good passer, fairly good driver, decent/ok shooter with 3-pont range, can defend and rebound, competes.
6’4” PF/SF Sajan Gill of George’s HS 2012 Does work hard, moves ok without the ball, decent short (one-bounce) driver, can post up some.
6’7” C Adam Hildebrandt of St. George’s HS 2012 Fairly good hands, moves ok with the ball, can post up some (knows how to dribble operate).
6’0” PG/SG Malcolm Hlady of Kelowna HS 2013 Fairly good handler, good passer, ok in transition, good driver.
6’0” SG James Hynes of Kitsilano HS 2014 Ok handler, moves ok without the ball, capable driver, ok shooter.
6’2” SG Alex Jordache of Claremont HS 2014 Runs ok, can handle and pass, fairly good shooter, solid defender.
6’5” PF Dean Johnston of BC Christian HS 2014 Runs ok, can pass, decent short driver, ok shooter with 3-point range.
6’1” SG/PG Gurpinder Kang of Mt. Douglas HS 2012 Handles fairly well, ok passer, can pull up in transition, fairly good shooter.
